Private Lessons (7+):
At Crescendo Studios, we take pride in our teachers and their methods. Private lessons are the centerpiece of music education and we believe great teachers make for great students. Because no two students learn exactly the same way, we do not adopt one blanket curriculum. Instead, we provide a wealth of resources for our teachers to supplement the needs of each individual student. Our instructors come from a diversity of backgrounds, disciplines and education. Their methods have been developed through years of experience with instruction and collaboration with peers. The characteristic our teachers share is a desire to foster students into a greater understanding of musical concepts, theory, technique and music history.
Private lessons are typically held once per week for half hour and hour long sessions. We offer instruction in a wide variety of instruments, from orchestral to piano, voice and guitar.

Band (7+):
Put your skills to the test by joining a band. An essential part of becoming a great musician is learning how to interact and perform with others. Our band program aims to pair students of commensurate skill, age and musical taste with a band coach who facilitates qualities like: musicianship, teamwork, song arrangement, performance techniques, instrument care and more. We also put an emphasis on taking charge and teaching bands to self-promote and make use of technology and the internet – it is our goal to see bands leave Crescendo Studios with experience and tools that will help them in the real world.
The band program at Crescendo Studios is open to all genres and students of varying skill level and background. Band sessions are one hour in length and are held once per week.

Prelude Piano (5 – 7)
Every journey has its beginning. Prelude Piano serves as an introduction to the world of music fundamentals for emerging musicians. Using a combination of fully-weighted keyboards, the Piano Maestro App (iOS), and Roland’s state of the art piano lab hardware, our students are given the tools they need to get started in their musical journeys.
Our group setting (5 students max) allows children to learn in isolation or in a group format with the Roland GCL-1 piano lab for an hour each week. This allows the student options to work at their own pace and focus on personal assignments or experience group activities. Our Piano Lab system give the instructor full control of the class through headphones, allowing students to hear each other and the teacher during group activities, class performances, and improvisational games which keep the class immersive and interactive.
Students will also have access to Piano Maestro, an application developed by JoyTunes. Piano Maestro provides our students visual and tactile reinforcement to musical concepts and theories they have learned in their lesson book, while providing more opportunities to practice sight reading, rhythm, technique, and more.
Students come out of Prelude Piano with a foundational knowledge of music that transfers seamlessly into private piano lessons and a variety of other instruments.

Overture (6 – 9):
Exploration leads to discovery. Is your student ready to take the first step in learning an instrument but unsure of which one to choose? We recommend they enroll in our Overture program. Overture is a hands-on introduction to a variety of core instruments; guitar, piano, bass and drums. Students will gain insight into what it really takes to learn an instrument without having to make the commitment of buying one beforehand.
Our Overture program gives students two weeks to focus on each instrument; classes are an hour in length with no more than 5 students to each class. In week one, students will learn the basics: the parts of the instrument, how it works, proper notation and hands on playing. During week two, the instructor will review information from the previous week, present a song to the class, and give instruction to each student on how to play it. After week two, each student will have gained a more in-depth perspective on the instrument and how it works in a private lesson environment – then they rotate to the next!
Overture was created as a means to ease students into private lessons without the commitment and pressure of purchasing an instrument they may end up disliking. After completion of Overture, each student will have played all four core instruments and will be able to determine which path they take from there, giving them confidence as they enter private lessons.
